Additional Fund By Rp 1.5 T Proposed to Normalize Rivers

This year we get Rp 200 billion. That's why we propose additional fund by Rp 1.5 trillion in the amendment APBD

Jakarta Water Resources Dept. has proposed additional fund amounting to Rp 1.5 trillion through City Budget (APBD) to speed up land acquisition in order to normalize rivers this year.

According to Teguh Hendarwan, Head of Jakarta Water Resources Dept., his party only gets allocation by Rp 200 billion for acquiring land. It is deemed not enough and its nominal needs to be added.

City Proposes Additional Fund for MRT

"This year we get Rp 200 billion. That's why we propose additional fund by Rp 1.5 trillion in the amendment APBD," he expressed, Friday (5/19).

He explains the fund would be spent to acquire lands in Ciliwung River, Pesanggrahan River and Sunter River. There are still thousands of lands on three riverbanks that have not been acquired.

"Land that must be acquired is a lot. So we need a lot of funds," he told.

Teguh mentions, so far, his party has acquired lands from some locations. Among them are 77 plots of land in Sunter River, Makasar Sub-district, Cipinang Melayu, 21 plots of land in Cipayung Sub-district, Lubang Buaya, 50 plots of land in Kampung Melayu, Bidara Cina, Cawang and Kebon Manggis.
